Earthquake hypocentres

  • Quake Search: this allows the user to extract a file of earthquake hypocentre locations from the New Zealand region in CSV or IMS 1.0 format, or to plot them as a JPEG image seismicity map. The search may be qualified by date, geographic location, focal depth, magnitude and/or solution quality.
  • Hypocentres and phases: retrieve year files for hypocentres and their phases using FTP. The files are in IMS 1.0 format, as is the seismic network history file. Only fully-checked data are available.
  • Moment tensor solutions: retrieve the catalogue of GeoNet moment tensor solutions in CSV format. This includes moment magnitude estimations for all significant New Zealand region earthquakes.
