Situation Summary

As of 09:30 the following new information is available:

• Enhanced seismic activity continued through 01:00 with a number of volcanic earthquakes recorded on 30 September 1995. From 01:00 to 09:30 there has been low-moderate level volcanic tremor but no discrete eruption-related earthquakes.

• No observations of the summit have been made because conditions were not suitable for an early morning observation flight.

• No reports of significant eruptions have been received.

Conclusions and Alert Status

The Alert Level for Ruapehu remains at Level 4.
