Sep 13 2005 - Steam Plumes Above Ruapehu
Clear steam plumes have been observed above Ruapehu this morning.
They are on the GeoNet camera images from 6 am (the first photo since dawn). The crater lake temperature on September 3 was 38.8°C and the air this morning was cool and relatively calm: perfect conditions for producing steam plumes. There is no significant seismicity at Ruapehu.
